Lulworth Cove in West Lulworth is a key part of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site which has been internationally recognised for its unique land forms and geology. The combination of thatched cottages, dramatic coastline and stunning walks makes Lulworth an ideal location for a relaxing holiday or weekend break. John Everett Millais and his father William Henry would have visited Lulworth Cove in the mid 1800s. Some 160 years later Lulworth Cove is much the same and continues to provide a haven from the stresses of city life.
If you think your ancestors may have hailed from Lulworth, the census information on the West Lulworth OPC site may help you trace your family history. The old picture postcards of West Lulworth, may even show you where they lived! The web site for the Lulworth Estate shows the event diary for Lulworth Castle.
