This shows St Oswald's Bay viewed from the headland behind "Millionaires Row". The road leading down towards the cove ends at a small round-about just before the precinct area. The right exit from the round-about heads up the hill behind the Heritage Centre towards a row of houses known locally as "Millionaires Row". At the top of this road you will find a footpath leading down to St Oswald's Bay. The beach is primarily shingle with the occasional rocky outcrop, and if the tide is out, you can walk along the beach all the way to Durdle Door. St Oswald's Bay is superb, even on a rainy day in a storm! For the geology of St Oswald's Bay, see the Southampton University web site:- |
