Monkey World was voted Dorset's family attraction of the Millennium and has featured in many television programmes in particular, the 63 episodes of Monkey Business.

Monkey World is set in 65 acres of Dorset woodland and provides sanctuary for over 150 primates.

I'm staying at Monkey World You should try the accommodation at Gatton House

Monkey World was set up in 1987 by Jim and Alison Cronin to provide abused spanish beach chimps with a permanent, stable home.

Monkey World is set in 65 acres of Woodland

Today Monkey World works in conjunction with foreign governments from all over the world to stop the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia.

I'd much prefer to stay at Monkey World

At Monkey World, visitors can see more than 150 primates of 15 different species.

One good back flip and I think you will just make it to the cafeteria

The facilities at Monkey World are excellent. The car park is enormous, and the cafeteria is excellent.

The Cafeteria at Monkey World has a good selection of food, but no bananas!

Feeding time, sometimes accompanied by educational and informative talks from the keepers is the ideal time to catch the monkeys in larger numbers out in the open.

Chimps searching the grass for lunch

Many picnic areas have been provided, along with play areas for little monkeys of the human kind.

Plenty of space to monkey around at Monkey World

The facilities for the disabled are excellent and a large number of mobility scooters and wheel chairs are available at the entrance. The site is quite large and you do need long legs to get around.

Who are you calling shorty

Fortunately there are many places where you can sit down and watch the monkey world go by.

I like a good sit down after lunch

There are 15 different species of primate at Monkey World, 16 if you include the humans, 17 if you include the fellow in the car park, only joking!

I can play a tune on this Ok perhaps not

I think this little chap is Tom the Capuchin Monkey, hair styled by Sweeny Todd's in Wareham.

Well, I was told I was the last of the Mohicans!

Sometimes Woolly Monkeys need to scratch their woolly jumpers.

Oooh thats better

When you think you have seen it all, you need to visit the Monkey World shop, located by the exit. The selection of pictures and cuddly toys is irresistible.
